  1. Key collection and cottage directions?
The directions will be posted to you once the final payment has been received. You will also receive information about key collection.

  2. Can I bring a pet?
Well-behaved pets are welcome at an extra charge of £10.Please keep them downstairs and off the furniture.

  3. Can I smoke in the cottage?
No. The inside of the cottage is a non-smoking area!

  4. Is there a cot and high chair in the cottage?
A travel cot and high chair can be provided – please make sure you request them when booking.

  5. What time can I arrive and what time do I have to leave?
The cottage will be cleaned and ready for you by 3pm. Please leave by 10 am to allow cleaning before the next visitors.

  6. Do I need to hire or bring towels or linen?
No. The beds will be made up and towels provided. The price is included in  the rental charge.

  7. Do I pay extra for electricity, coal and logs?
No. All fuel is included in your rental charge.

  8. What happens in an emergency?
If any of the appliances or services fail, Jenny and David, who live nearby can be contacted and they will help sort out the problem. For a medical emergency, there is a telephone in the house to enable you to contact emergency services.

  9. Will my mobile phone have good reception?
Not necessarily: some networks have limited coverage in the house. The landline is available for your use – an honesty box is provided to help us cover the cost of the calls.

  10. Do we pay for extra cleaning?
We ask guests to leave the house tidy and ready for cleaning. If however you know the house will need extra cleaning after your visit (perhaps large groups with dogs) we ask for an extra £20.

  11. Can we bring extra guests?
The cottage should only be used for the number stated when the booking is made. If more people join you ( so that there are no more than 7 guests) please let us know so that extra linen can be supplied.

  12. What should we expect of the holiday cottage?
The cottage is comfortable and centrally heated. It is however an old stone house which means it may have small damp patches around the two west facing windows. Unfortunately the driving rain on the west wind finds a way into the stone work and, try as we may, we cannot solve the problem. However this is only in the dining room in very wet weather!

  13. Any other questions or local information, advice about booking for a special meal?
Please contact Jenny and David – they will be able to answer your queries.

  14. What is mobile coverage like?
